WSU Extension Horizons, in partnership with Washington State Department of Commerce, is pleased to present
Rural Reflections Summit:
Building a Stronger Washington
March 19 & 20, 2010
ATEC at Big Bend Community College
Moses Lake, Washington
Please join us as we gather to learn, share and celebrate Rural Washington. The conference is divided into two sections. The first evening will begin with a keynote speaker of distinction which will lead into a celebration of the inspiring ways in which the 40 Horizons Communities have re-opened lines of communication, assessed the causes of poverty, and identified and implemented strategies that are boosting community pride, addressing local issues, and leading to economic improvements.
The second day will be packed with workshops around:
Asset Development - Designed to broaden your knowledge of and information about creative ways to help neighbors grow new and keep more financial assets; including starting new local businesses.
Community Leadership/Capacity Building - Designed to deepen your ability to manage nonprofits, develop new partners, successfully recruit new volunteers, measure success, communicate with others, and diversify your leadership base.
Public Policy - Designed to expand your awareness and role in helping educate neighbors, town council members, legislators and other key community partners on the consequences of policy, program and financial changes at the local, state and federal levels.
Fill free to join us for part or all of the conference. It will be an excellent opportunity for you to:
Celebrate - Successes and impacts since 2004 of 40 rural communities across our great state!
Share - Connect with other elected officials, community leaders and partners.
